FAQ

What is Tattoo Armour?
Tattoo Armour is an advanced protective film designed to improve healing and minimize complications during the tattoo recovery process. It creates a clean, breathable environment that shields your fresh ink from bacteria, friction, and contamination while allowing excess fluids to be absorbed efficiently.

Why should I use Tattoo Armour over cling film or traditional bandages?
Unlike cling film or improvised wraps, Tattoo Armour is specifically engineered for tattoo healing. It absorbs plasma and ink, maintains optimal breathability, reduces scabbing and improves comfort for both artists and clients. Plus, it significantly lowers the risk of infections and patchy healing.

How does it work?
Tattoo Armour uses a multi-layer nonwoven structure that:
  • Absorbs exudate like plasma and excess ink
  • Allows airflow for better skin regeneration
  • Protects from dirt, friction and external threats
  • Reduces inflammation and itchiness
This means better color retention and cleaner final results for healed tattoos.

When should Tattoo Armour be applied?
Tattoo Armour should be applied immediately after completing the tattoo, once the area has been cleaned and dried. It’s designed to be the first line of defense during those critical first few hours of healing.

How long should I keep Tattoo Armour on?
We recommend keeping it on for up to 24 hours. This gives your tattoo time to begin healing in a protected environment. If fluid build-up is excessive, replace the pad sooner with a fresh one. Always follow your artist’s aftercare advice too.

Is Tattoo Armour breathable?
Yes. Unlike plastic wrap, Tattoo Armour is breathable. It lets oxygen in and allows moisture to evaporate, which is essential for fast, clean healing without suffocating your skin.

Can it be used for large tattoos?
Absolutely. Tattoo Armour comes in a range of sizes and can be overlapped to cover large or irregularly shaped tattoos. It’s flexible, easy to cut (only cut once), and stays in place even on tricky body parts.

Will it stick to the tattoo?
No. Tattoo Armour’s surface does not stick to the tattooed skin. It gently lays over the area, allowing it to absorb excess fluids without adhering to the wound.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Tattoo Armour is hypoallergenic and latex free, making it safe for most skin types. If you have a history of severe allergies or skin sensitivities, consult your artist or dermatologist before use.

Can clients reapply Tattoo Armour themselves?
Definitely. Tattoo Armour is designed for both professional use and client self-care. It’s simple to apply and doesn’t require adhesives or special handling. Just clean the tattoo, dry it, and lay a new pad over the area.

Is it eco-friendly?
Tattoo Armour is made with skin-safe and environmentally conscious materials. While it’s not reusable (for hygiene reasons), its minimalist packaging and single-use efficiency help reduce overall waste compared to multiple cling film changes.

Can I sleep with Tattoo Armour?

YES! You do not need to wake up in the middle of the night to change your pads. Yes, it means your pads are on for a little longer, but due to the fact that you’re moving a lot less, then you’ll bleed a little less as well. So it all evens out. Sleeping with the pads on is definitely the most comfortable option available. Trust us, we’ve tried, many times.
